Where science meets creativity

Not just an experiment.
A project they can be proud of.

Children learn science most powerfully when they can see it, touch it, question it and explain it. Each project begins with an accessible scientific idea, then invites children to make, test, adapt and present something of their own.

The goal is not a perfect model. It is the confidence to ask, “What will happen if I try this?” and the independence to find out.

Projects with a purpose

Make. Measure.
Improve. Share.

Projects move beyond copying instructions. Children make predictions, notice patterns, compare results and decide how to communicate what they discovered.

  • 01Cardboard models and working mechanisms
  • 02Kitchen chemistry and material investigations
  • 03Biology observations and living-world challenges
  • 04Posters, demonstrations and mini presentations

A simple rhythm, twice a month

From “What is that?” to “Let me show you.”

01

Watch

A short, engaging video introduces the scientific idea without overwhelming them.

02

Make

A clear guide helps them build or investigate using familiar, affordable materials.

03

Explore

Prompts encourage predictions, fair testing, measuring, troubleshooting and improvement.

04

Explain

They teach the idea back using their model, a poster or a short family presentation.

Two age-appropriate pathways

The same big wonder.
The right level of challenge.

Choose one pathway for your household, or select the Complete Family Science Lab for access to both.

AGES 7–11 · KS2

Science Explorers

  • Shorter instructions and strong visual guidance
  • Everyday scientific vocabulary
  • Observation, sorting, measuring and simple fair tests
  • Drawing, model-making and show-and-tell prompts

AGES 11–14 · KS3

Science Investigators

  • Deeper explanations and more independent planning
  • Variables, evidence and evaluation
  • Design improvements and extension challenges
  • Structured scientific communication and presentation

Age 11 sits across the transition. Choose the pathway that best matches your child’s confidence and experience.

Learning through teaching

If you can explain it, you understand it more deeply.

Every project ends with an age-appropriate communication challenge. Children might create a display poster, demonstrate a model, record a short explanation or teach the idea to someone at home.

Skills that reach beyond science

Curious minds become capable learners.

01

Curiosity

Ask better questions and discover the science hidden in everyday life.

02

Creativity

Design, build and improve something that feels uniquely theirs.

03

Scientific thinking

Predict, test, observe, record and draw evidence-based conclusions.

04

Communication

Explain what happened through posters, models and short presentations.

05

Independence

Follow a process, solve problems and take ownership of a project.

06

Resilience

Treat unexpected results as useful information, not failure.

Inside every project

Everything you need.
Nothing unnecessarily complicated.

Questions families may have

Good to know before you begin.

Do you send a physical kit?

No. Projects use everyday household materials and inexpensive items available from supermarkets or hobby shops. Every guide includes a materials list in advance.

Is adult supervision required?

Some projects can be completed independently, while others need an adult nearby. Every guide clearly identifies safety notes and adult-only steps.

Can siblings use the same membership?

Yes. Children in the same household can use one membership when they are following the same age pathway.

What if I have children in both age groups?

Choose the Complete Family Science Lab for access to both Science Explorers and Science Investigators. It costs £16.99 per month, saving £2.99 compared with purchasing both pathways separately.

Which pathway should we choose at age 11?

Choose the pathway that best matches your child’s confidence and experience. You can also change pathway as their needs develop.

Can we cancel?

Yes. The proposed membership is monthly and can be cancelled before the next billing date.

Science is not just something to learn

It is something to do, create and share.
